Where fun never ends!
Where fun never ends!
We encourage the children in our care to be confident and believe in themselves and to be kind and think of others. We focus on nurturing every child's heart, body, mind, and soul in a fun loving environment.
We are family owned and operated. Ms. Ellie is the owner. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and homeschooled her 6 children. Ms. Liberty (her daughter) is the teacher assistant. They are both CPR certified.
We offer full-time, part-time, before/after school, learning time only, drop-in, overnight, and all day/night care to all ages.
We have whole natural foods except for on special occasions. We serve whole grains, lean meat, dairy, and three veggies and two fruits a day. Children will receive breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.
Breakfast - 7:30
Morning Snack - 10:30
Lunch - 12:30
Afternoon Snack - 3:30
YOGA - 8:00
We have yoga in the morning and we take time to focus on emotions and building social/emotional skills such as friendship, respect, conflict resolution, and self-esteem.
MORNING MEETING - 8:30
We have morning meeting where we share any big events that happened, talk about birthdays and holidays, and review letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and sight words. We also sing a few educational songs to learn days of the week, months, and phonics.
CURRICULUM - 9:00
We follow two curriculums (during September-May). A literature based curriculum that is based on a book study a week and focuses on science, math, and social studies within the book of the week. The curriculum is called "Before Five in a Row." A Letter of the Week study that helps children build phonics and early learning from "Brightly Beaming Resources." Both of these curriculums will build a love for reading at a young age as well as become more aware of the world around them.
ACTIVITY - 10:00
Monday - Game Day
Tuesday - Craft Day
Wednesday - Music Day
Thursday - Life Skills Day
Friday - Science Day
11:00 - 12:30 and 4:00-5:30
We encourage children to play and use their imagination. This gives the children time to put what they have learned into a game of their own. Teachers are able to discover the interests of the kids, to use in future lessons. This is also vital for socialization. There will be at the very least one hour of outdoor time. We are always hoping for more time outside so kids can have plenty of room to use their energy and connect with nature.
1:00 - 3:00
This is nap time for nappers or puzzles, reading, and coloring time for those who are older. This is great for those that still need a nap and also great for teaching the older kiddos to sit quietly on their own which will help to prepare for school. No worries, we will make sure the older kids are still entertained with toys and gadgets that only come out during quiet time.
Families provide food for their child until their child eats only solids. Families also provide diapers for their child until they are potty trained. We are on the baby's time, offering a bottle every few hours, until they are 6 months, then we try to put them on a schedule.
Once again, we work on baby's time. We allow them to sleep whenever they are tired and encourage them to sleep when they are acting sleepy. Once they are 6 months, we try to follow a sleeping schedule that works for everyone, so we don't mess up the sleeping schedule at home. We change their diapers before and after every nap and check through-out the day.
We love play time with babies in our care. There is nothing like the sound of a baby laughing. We have toys, and different places for them to play (bouncer, exersaucer, swing, floor on a blanket, playpen, stroller, in our arms, and in a wrap). We like to change up their places to provide different perspectives and toys for them. During play time we make sure that they use all their senses and use play to reach milestones.
We believe that every child reaches milestones at their own time that works for them. But we also believe in encouraging milestones. We use two apps as a curriculum for babies in our care. "Wonder Weeks" helps us understand times when babies are growing and possibly crying more. It helps us understand what babies are probably thinking and going through physically and cognitively during each week of their life. "Milestones Matter" focuses more on the milestones and helps us understand what milestones should be encouraged.
We love watching the older kids connect with the babies in our care. Whether it's peek-a-boo, or the older kids reading a story to the babies, or showing them how to shake a rattle. Teachers enjoy rocking and cuddling with the babies as they talk with them or sing to them as well. We include all the ages in everything that we do together, like a big happy family.
Ms. Ellie has had several years of experience with children. She grew up as the oldest of six and loved caring for her siblings. She was a babysitter at just 12 years old, watching kids from her church. She then worked at Chuck E. Cheeses for a couple years and then became a CNA for the elderly. She then got married and her husband joined the military and they started a family at 19 years old. She has raised three of her oldest children and continue to raise her youngest three (ages 16, 8, and 6). She homeschools her children and has completed an online degree for Early Childhood Education. She has had experience of owning her own child care for four years. After one year of being a licensed provider she decided to become unlicensed to focus more on the children rather than paperwork. She was also a foster mom for two years and is certified in trauma informed children's yoga. Through all of this time, she has learned to care for anyone that comes her way. You can have an ease of mind knowing that your child is in good care.
We welcome everyone! We are a Christian home and have pictures of Christ and pray before meals but we do not preach our religion. We are very LGBTQIA+ friendly and welcome all cultures. We work with everyone that has any disabilities. Ms. Liberty (teacher's assistant) has a physical disability and we have worked with children that have autism, ADHD, mental illness, deaf, and have behavioral challenges. Everyone is welcome and loved.
We use an app where we will post daily pictures, updates on care (such as what your child ate), and it is a great place for communication between teachers and families, to keep everyone on the same page.
Our team offers a FREE night of care for the kids every season! This gives the parents time for themselves. We will announce the dates when the time comes closer, but you can look forward to a night with four hours of free time just for you.
We love birthdays and holidays and get-togethers. We invite parents to join us for celebrations. We also have cook-outs 1-3 times a year for all of our families.
There are several reasons why families prefer care in a child care home rather than a center.
* Siblings can stay together.
* Teachers work with parents.
* Home environment with a comfortable setting.
* Different activities such as field trips and cooking.
* All ages together develops deeper empathy.
* Smaller "class size" for individual care.
We offer a fair tuition cost. We have a flat weekly rate depending on your needs and do not charge hourly (unless you use us as a drop-in). We also do not charge for any vacation days, holidays, or sick days in which Happy Days will be closed. Each family receives 5 days of emergency (non payment days) and each child receives 5 sick (non payment days).
We believe development is very important and so we like to have conferences where we can meet with parents and make goals for each child. We have two conferences a year (September and March).
